8. England, Saunton Sands Beach
It is located not far from the famous English surfing beach of Croyde. Saunton Sands is a typical English beach, about three and a half kilometers long, with sand of a pleasant and soft golden hue. On one side it is bordered by the sea, on the other - by a chain of dunes, where locals and tourist companies rent out small cottages to tourists.
The beach is quite crowded, with locals and tourists wandering around, dogs chasing frisbees and sometimes even a band playing Bob Marley songs. It's a good place to spend a few days enjoying the resort atmosphere and the cool, pleasant Devon sun.
Take a surfboard, make friends with the neighboring dogs who throw a ball at your feet and look expectantly into your eyes, bask in the sun in the dunes or treat yourself to strawberries and cream on the terrace of one of the beach cafes. And if you want to combine pleasure with intellectual relaxation, there are more than enough attractions nearby per unit of area.
7. Spain, Cies Islands, Rodas Beach
The territories of the Cies Islands are part of the Marine National Park of the Atlantic Ocean Islands. There are actually three islands - Monteagudo, Faro, San Martinho. Faro is connected to Monteagudo by a long sand strip, stretching for more than a kilometer. This is what is called Rodas Beach.
This beach can be recommended to lovers of wildlife, especially those who like to take photos and videos of animals - due to the unique natural conditions, there are plenty of all kinds of animals here, from the ubiquitous seagulls to dolphins. However, the national park imposes its own restrictions:
- Up to two thousand people can visit the islands per day;
- you can only move along specially laid paths;
- It is forbidden to spend the night on the islands or make fires;
- and the garbage must be taken with you and thrown away on the continent.
6. Cambodia, Koh Rong Samloem, Sunset Beach
Getting to one of Cambodia's most beautiful beaches isn't easy. First, you have to catch a ferry from the mainland, then walk for about an hour through the forest from the island's main port (watch out for the fire ants, they bite hard). Luckily, there are plenty of comfortable places to stay, so you might end up falling asleep to the soothing murmur of the ocean that night. Hammocks are everywhere, so finding the perfect spot for an Instagram selfie is no problem.
The orange fine sand of the beach contrasts nicely with the blue water, and the silhouette of an abandoned pier adds a touch of romance (again, it looks great in the photo against the sunset sky). But the real life is under the surface of the water. As soon as you put your foot in the water, a curious fish will immediately swim up and start studying you as carefully as you study it.
The deeper you go, the larger, more diverse and of the most amazing colours the fish are. It is not for nothing that the beach is called Sunset Beach – from here you can enjoy stunning views of the bay. The view for many kilometres ahead is unobstructed, and you can freely admire all the richness of the colours of the tropical setting sun.
5. Costa Rica, Playa Chiquita Beach
Costa Rica is washed on both sides by two oceans, the Pacific and the Atlantic, and there are many beautiful beaches there. Playa Chiquita is no exception - the sand there is soft, golden, and the flat bottom and clear water are ideal for swimming and beach holidays.
The peculiarity of the beach is that, due to its specific coastline, it is divided into several sections, where bays alternate with open spaces. Thus, if some part seems too densely populated to you, you can find hidden passages to secluded, sparsely populated places, where you can swim and sunbathe almost completely alone.
4. Russia-Lithuania, Curonian Spit
One of the most beautiful places in Russia with white sand beaches, picturesque dunes, pine forests fragrant with resin heated by the sun, delicious smoked fish and excellent bike paths. This is the place for you if you are not crazy about crowds or tropical sun, but you like nature, sometimes cool Baltic wind and an environment that awakens the imagination.
The spit is a narrow strip, only 3-4 kilometers wide, but it extends for more than 100 km and is distinguished by a variety of landscapes - here forests border the desert, and the desert - with a well-equipped beach or a picturesque fishing village.
The spit is also one of the best places to watch sunsets. In the north, sunsets are not as lightning fast as on the equator, so grab a blanket, a bottle of beer and some smoked fish and settle down in the dunes. Then you will see a wonderful sight: the sky lights up with rich golds, reds and purples before turning a deep blue with a dense scattering of stars.
3. Türkiye, Kusadasi beach

The resorts on the Turquoise Coast are secluded but very nice – quite a few beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness and well-groomedness. And if you are a misanthrope, you can take a yacht ride and sail into hidden bays, and swim and bask in the sun to your heart's content without the annoying presence of other bipeds nearby.
2. Philippines, Surigao del Sur, Barobo, Cabgan Island
There are about seven thousand islands in the Philippines, so there are many beaches, and very beautiful ones. The most famous of them are located in Kalibo, Palawan and Cebu, but few people know about Kabgan. This beach is located near the quiet sleepy town of Barobo in the Surigao del Sur region.
There are few people there, the beach is long, clean, bordered on one side by richly colored water, and on the other by coconut trees. A great place for those who like unexplored quiet places where you can be alone with the surrounding world without annoyingly loud music or animators' antics.
By the way, Kabgan is not the only island; there is Turtle Island nearby, as well as the unique Vanishing Island. It really does disappear from sight during high tide.

This beach has long been a favorite of two categories of people – surfers and photographers. The former choose Bloubergstrand because of its excellent kitesurfing opportunities – the combination of wind and waves on this beach can bring a lot of pleasure to both beginners and veterans of the sport.
But photographers are mainly attracted by the bizarre local rock formation – Table Mountain. The beach offers excellent views of it. On sunny days the beach is full of life, with families having picnics, adults swimming and sunbathing, and children playing in the waves.
