The best deodorants of 2024-2025, rating Test Achats

Expensive is not a synonym for the word "best". This folk wisdom has once again been proven by experts - this time by the Belgian non-profit company Test Achats.

The object of the study was deodorant sprays, including such well-known Russian brands as Fa, Dove, Vichy, Nivea, etc. Cosmetic products were assessed primarily by their ability to mask odors, cause allergies, stain clothes, and contain toxic substances.

The Best Deodorants of 2023

10. Nivea Deodorant Fresh Natural

wphz5d5u

One of the oldest German cosmetics companies, whose products are well known in Russia – they managed to seep through even the Iron Curtain during the Soviet era.

The deodorant has a pleasant, long-lasting scent, fresh and unobtrusive, which is perfect both in the morning and in the evening, and will not compete for your attention with body cream or perfume. It dries a little longer than regular deodorants - a wet mark remains on the skin for another minute. So, if you start getting dressed at this point, whitish spots will quickly appear under your arms.

9. Sanex Zero% – Invisible

w4qgpjqz

One of the advantages of Sanex Zero% - Invisible is hypoallergenicity. Almost all deodorants work on the principle of not blocking sweat glands, like antiperspirants, but masking them with antibacterial (zinc-based) and aromatic fragrances. These aromatic substances can cause allergies in users.

The problem with the composition of Invisible is different - it contains substances called "endocrine disruptors". This means that if you use Invisible for many years, sooner or later the body will accumulate substances that can cause disruptions in the human hormonal system. Moreover, they can react with substances in other cosmetics (soaps, creams, perfumes, etc.), which can enhance their effect.

Test Achats experts also noted the ill-conceived design of the bottle – no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to use all 100% of the aromatic liquid. Approximately 7% remain inside the bottle.

8. Sanex Zero% - Extra Control

v3mygvyy

Like its brother, the Sanex Zero% - Invisible deodorant, the aromatic fragrances of Sanex Zero% - Extra Control are hypoallergenic and safe to use. And no endocrine disruptors!

Unfortunately, Sanex cosmetics are not available in our country – they are sold only in Europe and South Africa. The brand itself belongs to the American mega-concern Colgate-Palmolive, although it was once British.

7. Fa Pink Passion - Pink Rose

tknnh4g1

Another well-known brand in Russia, whose products can often be found on the shelves. The brand belongs to the German concern Henkel AG. Why FA? Because these are the first two letters of the German word fabelhafte – “amazing”.

It is unlikely that there have been any studies on how much "Pink Passion" (that is how the manufacturer decided to name its product for the Russian market) amazes users, but overall the spray turned out to be successful. Unless, of course, you believe in 48 hours on the body - this is not an antiperspirant, but a deodorant, and it will not stop sweating for two days.

And the scent may seem too heavy to some people – if you use it in a small room, like a bathroom, the smell will be very strong. So if you plan to use perfume as well, it is better to choose a deodorant with a neutral scent.

6. Dove 0% Aluminum Salts Deodorans Original Zinc Protection

ju2e01fa

The brand (although American) belongs to the British mega-corporation Unilver, which supplies deodorants, shower gels, lotions, hair care products, soaps, face washes and other hygiene products to more than 150 countries around the world.

The trick of "Dove without aluminum salts" is a completely safe composition, without these very salts, alcohol, aggressive fragrances, etc. According to the manufacturer, the deodorant can be applied to the body as many times as desired. True, some do not like the aroma - they say it is very... peculiar, for lack of another word.

5. Fa Mystic MOMENTS - Passion Flower

os2drums

Henkel marketers, who are engaged in promoting the company's products on the Russian market, love flowery names. The deodorant "Pink Passion" has a brother - just as pink, and just as emotional (the fragrance is based on passionflower, "passion flower" in literal translation). They just christened it "Magic Moments".

The deodorant has become popular in Russia largely due to its well-thought-out "appearance" - the spray works great, the bottle is ergonomically shaped (it is very convenient to take it by the "waist"), and a pleasant aroma. Although it is not for everyone - it is quite intense, and according to the classification of perfumes it would be classified as an evening one.

"Passion Flower" does not leave white spots on clothes. However, "Magic Moments" was harmed by the assurances of marketers in protection for 48 hours - in reality, the deodorant lasts for half a day at most, then you need to refresh the scent.

4. Carrefour Soft Deodorant Parfum Cologne

abxbiomp

Carrefour is a huge retail chain that operates both in France and abroad – in Latin America, China and the Arab world. It has several of its own brands, including personal care products.

Carrefour Soft is one of the inexpensive deodorants, which, however, turned out to be better than its more hyped counterparts. Alas, the company's products are not available in Russia - Carrefour left the Russian market ten years ago.

3. Cien (Lidl) Pure & Fresh

dniipxr4

Like Carrefour Soft, Cien Pure & Fresh deodorant is produced for the Lidl chain. These are German low-price supermarkets that operate not only in Germany but throughout Europe. Some products, despite their low prices, are very good – for example, several types of skin care and personal hygiene products.

Cien Pure & Fresh is also a success. The smell of this deodorant is subtle, clean, unobtrusive, and can be combined with perfume. It dries instantly and leaves no stains on clothes. And it effectively protects against sweat odor throughout the day. However, Cien Pure & Fresh has one major drawback: since Lidl does not operate in Russia, it is impossible to buy deodorant in our country. Previously, fans of the brand ordered products from Finland or bought them during trips to Europe.

2. Boni Selection (Colruyt) Deo Spray Fraicheur

h4fyryqu

Unfortunately, products from Colruyt (a retail supermarket chain operating in Belgium, Luxembourg and France) are also not available in Russia. Boni Selection is a brand of the company, which offers a variety of eco-products - organic products, semi-finished vegan cuisine, gluten-free bread, as well as personal care products. Of course, they are also environmentally friendly - this is already evident from the composition of the deodorant. There are no aluminum salts, no alcohol, no strong fragrances. And at a very reasonable price - in Belgium, the deodorant is sold for only 0.99 euros.

1. Biocura (Aadi) Protect Deodorant 24H

vovk54d2

Aldi, the company that owns the Biocura brand, is a long-standing competitor of the Lidl chain (ranked third) and also a large retail chain of supermarkets with inexpensive goods. Biocura produces cosmetics and products for face and body care. According to the manufacturer, all cosmetics are made exclusively on the basis of plant materials, are not tested on animals, so even the strictest vegans can use them.

Unfortunately, not every resident of Russia will be able to use the Biocura deodorant – the company's products are not sold in our country. It's a pity, since Test Achats experts recognized it as the best in the category of spray deodorants.

The Worst Deodorants According to Test Achats

Surprisingly, but true – the first places from the end were taken by the two most expensive deodorants, produced under the brands La Roche-Posay and Vichy. They are sold in Russia. The samples tested did not mask the smell well and left stains on clothes (fortunately, they were removed by washing).

As for the price, it exceeded the cost of the first place in the rating of the best deodorants by more than 10 times! Another unpleasant surprise was the design of the bottle - the craftsmen from Vichy created it in such a way that the liquid inside could not be used completely. About 6.3% of the composition was left to splash at the bottom of the vessel.

However, both deodorants have an undeniable advantage – they are not capable of causing an allergic reaction in their owners. Whether this feature justifies the inflated price is up to you to decide.

Here are the top five worst deodorants that don't belong on your skin.

  • Narta Deodorant Cologne – Fraicheur De Cologne
  • Zwitsal Deodorant Original
  • Ushuaïa Deodorant Purple De Grenade Des Açores
  • La Roche Posay Deodorant 48H Peaux Sensibles
  • Vichy Deodorant Mineral 48H
