New Year 2025 is approaching every day. This time, according to the Eastern calendar, the symbol will be the Green Snake. It is time to think about decorating the office, because you still need to agree with colleagues on the style of decor, who can come up with crafts, who to trust with the preparation. It is worth starting with planning.
Formal style
Business style implies using a spruce as the main decor. It is allowed to take both a real and an artificial tree, its size is not important. Decorations are exclusively classic, they include: rain, tinsel, garlands. The listed decor is also used to decorate walls, railings, doorways.
It is recommended to put mini-Christmas trees on the tables and sprinkle the empty spaces next to them with “snow” made from starch or baking soda. The composition can be complemented by the Green Snake – the symbol of the New Year 2025.
Hand-made crafts will not fit in at all. It is better to buy ready-made products, but not made of paper or cardboard.
If the company's products can be placed in offices, then it is worth bringing a festive touch to them. Are clients visiting the office? Then it will definitely not be superfluous to put out business cards with a New Year theme at the reception.
Decorating the boss's workplace
When decorating the boss's office or desk, their interests, character, and age are taken into account. If the boss keeps a distance from his subordinates, then you need to stick to the corporate style. Its basis is a muted color scheme. Useless books will look great in the form of a Christmas tree. A good solution for the walls is to cut out the name of the owner of the workplace or a greeting from letters, as well as a figurine of the Green Snake and stick it to the surface with transparent tape.
The young boss will most likely like a dynamic design with foreign motifs, in which restraint and eclecticism with a modernist twist prevail. In no case should you use homemade snowflakes, tinsel, or rain, since such decor is distinguished by its brightness and festivity.
Decorating the reception
The information desk is the first thing visitors see. To please most customers, it is better to use a traditional design, you can combine it with a business one, for this you need to use flashy massive decorations, bright electric garlands. Put branded souvenirs, business cards, greeting cards in a prominent place. Place a glass vase with tangerines nearby as a treat.
Original version for the reception area:
- Attach small Christmas trees or one large one upside down to the ceiling, as well as improvised wreaths made from branches;
- Tinsel will add variety to the picture if you place it around the perimeter of the table. You can also use it to separate the border of the reception and offices;
- The New Year tree should be large and natural. Due to the abundance of tinsel, when decorating the tree, you should not go into flashiness.
Another variation for those who take the holiday seriously. It is necessary to adhere to restraint, install a miniature artificial Christmas tree, hang a couple of balls and one LED garland on it.
We decorate arches and stairs
Particular attention is paid to the railings. To create a cheerful atmosphere, air or homemade balloons in a festive theme are tied. Garlands, LED strips, green snake toys on Velcro are perfect. The same elements can be used for arches, the main thing is to leave the passage free.
An idea for decorating arches and stairs. Wrap the railings with white and blue tinsel, tie blue balloons in a New Year theme to white satin ribbons. Place wreaths of small Christmas trees, bells, and pine cones on the stairwells. Hang a garland on the arched passages. Attach tinsel to the top. Make bows from white and blue tinsel and attach them to empty spaces where appropriate.
Decorating the Christmas tree
Usually the team decides to install a large live spruce in the main corridor, and for the offices they prefer to choose small artificial ones that fit on the tables. Design options:
- Classic – toys and garlands should be of the same color palette. It is recommended to combine silver, blue and black. Just don’t use too much tinsel;
- Eco-style – candies, marshmallows, gingerbread men, cinnamon sticks, nuts, coffee beans are used as toys;
- Nostalgic – suitable for companies with employees brought up in the Soviet Union. Famous glass and paper bears, snowmen, berries, squirrels, Father Frost and Snow Maiden or cut-out elements from old magazines will help bring back childhood;
- Economical - take, for example, a ficus tree as a tree and wrap it with tinsel. If there is little space in the office, you can print a 2D tree and stick it to the wall with transparent tape, be sure to add a garland. To add volume, use wooden branches painted green with cotton wool. An improvised tree can be made from folded books wrapped in festive gift paper.
We design workplaces
General office decoration and a Christmas tree are not always enough to create an atmosphere. Perhaps one of your colleagues expresses a lack of festive mood, in which case it is recommended to decorate workplaces for everyone.
The main thing is to stick to the general style. Small souvenirs, figurines with a snake or its variations will be appropriate. There will be a place for a basket or a vase with tangerines or something sweet next to the computer. Trust the office's craftswoman to make a "delicious" Christmas tree from sweets.
We decorate the ceiling
Several options:
- Economical - hang snowmen made by hand using thin short threads. To create a festive atmosphere, it is worth taking colored paper;
- Business - in this case, on the contrary, the use of "children's" crafts is excluded. It is better to limit yourself to balls, hanging them at different levels in the shape of a Christmas tree;
- Sweet - here thin short threads are also used, only now candies, gingerbread, and lollipops are used as decorations.
When decorating the ceiling, you should not disturb the working space; dark colors should be avoided.
Decorating the walls
Garlands made from scrap materials are used to decorate the walls. Patterns and inscriptions are made using tinsel and transparent tape. It is easy to make a wall tree from pompoms, satin ribbon, natural coniferous branches, toys, the tree trunk can be made from wooden clothespins or sticks, which are fastened with invisible wire. The following color schemes are used:
- A combination of gold and orange, with a little red added;
- Combine blue with beige or white;
- Dominance of one shade with small inclusions of silver.
To cheer up your colleagues, you can place a sheet of Whatman paper on the wall and put markers next to it. This way, everyone will write a congratulation.
How to decorate windows and doors
Thematic painting is often used when decorating windows. What options are offered:
- Simple - take toothpaste and leave splashes, it will be easier with stencils;
- More complex - they make stained glass windows, design them themselves. Homemade snowflakes and figures made of colored paper also look beautiful.
For window openings, it is recommended to use Christmas tree decorations, pine cones, pine branches, and topiary.
Classic for doors – wreaths. Hand-made items made from natural fir branches, toy red balls, lollipops look good. Doorways are decorated with garlands.
DIY jewelry
How to make wreaths easily:
- Paint the cones and wait until dry;
- Cut a ring out of foam;
- Glue pine cones, pine branches, and toys onto the ring so that there are no gaps.
You can make a wreath even easier with children: draw it on a piece of paper, cut it out, poke a small hole, thread it and tie it.
