As the New Year 2025 approaches, everyone starts thinking about finding gifts for their family and friends. In addition, there is a desire to create warmth and comfort in your own home. It has long been proven that this does not require large sums. After all, crafts and decorations made with your own hands. Often they look no worse, but the process of creation captivates and unites all family members.

1. DIY paper ball

Christmas tree decorations can be completely different. Some choose ready-made products, while others prefer to make them with their own hands. Today we suggest trying to make a paper ball.

To do this you will need:

  • colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • stencil;
  • clothespins;
  • glue;
  • ribbon.

First, you need to decide what kind of Christmas tree ball you want to see. We have prepared three stencil options. Choose the one you like and print it in two copies on paper of different shades. Then carefully cut out all the details of the drawing.

On the work surface, lay out all the parts in the shape of a flower, as shown in the photo.

Additionally, cut out a small circle from paper and glue it in the center. After that, carefully begin to weave, gradually intertwining one strip after another. It is very important to adhere to the checkerboard pattern. For better fixation, use clothespins.

When the ball is formed, we fix the strips together with glue. We make a loop from the ribbon and fix it on top.

2. Unusual Christmas tree made of fringe for New Year 2025

No New Year is complete without the main decoration – the Christmas tree. It creates a festive mood and is the embodiment of celebration. However, every year more and more families choose alternative options for themselves.

Materials required:

  • copper tubes;
  • hacksaw with a thin blade;
  • green fringe not less than 15 cm;
  • paper;
  • thin wire;
  • glue gun;
  • pom pom garland;
  • pliers;
  • ruler;
  • scissors.

First, we cut the fringe into five pieces: 45 cm, 35 cm, 25 cm, 15 cm and 5 cm. We cut the copper tubes with a hacksaw into pieces of the same size.

Carefully glue the fringe to the tubes using a glue gun.

Take a long piece of wire and thread it through the largest tube. Each side should have identical ends. Thread them through the smaller tube and connect all the others in this way.

On a sheet of paper, draw two squares with sides of 10 cm. Cut them out and fold them like an accordion. Glue the upper edges of each piece together, and then connect them together.

We glue the top to the top of the tree, and also attach a garland of pompoms. Additionally, we form a hook from the wire and fix it. A stylish, unusual Christmas tree for the New Year 2025 is ready.

3. Santa Claus made of felt

Let's prepare the following:

  • felt in white, black and beige colors;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • thick cotton fabric;
  • synthetic padding;
  • white wool for felting;
  • sample;
  • wire;
  • pencil;
  • black beads;
  • beige and black threads;
  • small bell.

First, print the template on paper and cut out all the details. Trace the body template onto thick white felt and cut it out.

Repeat the same on thin felt. Also cut out boots from thick white and thin black felt according to the template. Cut out boot lapels from thin white felt.

Cut out mittens from thick white felt. Cut out the fur coat and hat parts from thin beige felt. Additionally, cut out two circles from beige cotton fabric.

Fill a small circle with padding polyester, tighten with a thread and sew to a large circle. This will be Santa's nose. Also sew on eyes made of black beads. The next step is to sew the face to the body, adding a little padding polyester inside. Form the beard and eyebrows from felting wool, then fix them with a glue gun.

Add details of the fur coat and hat. Twist four small pieces of wire around the pencil.

We glue the body parts together, inserting wire parts between them. We fill the blanks with padding polyester and sew along the edges.

We form a holder for the bell and attach it to the mitten. The original Santa Claus figurine is ready.

4. Painting a Christmas tree toy with your own hands

If you are bored with simple Christmas tree decorations, it is time to give them a new life and decorate them yourself.

In the process you will need:

  • plastic balls;
  • thin brushes;
  • wooden stick;
  • acrylic primer;
  • sheet of paper;
  • paint of white, black, purple color;
  • foam sponge;
  • golden glitter;
  • sandpaper;
  • acetone;
  • pencil.

For convenience, attach a stick to the ball. Process the surface with sandpaper, then with acetone. Apply a thin layer of acrylic primer to the entire ball using a foam sponge. Leave until completely dry. Apply lilac paint and leave to dry. Draw a dog on a sheet of paper and transfer the sketch to the ball with a simple pencil.

We paint the light areas first, and then the dark ones.

We outline the contours of each detail and the drawing as a whole using a thin brush.

If necessary, draw the details. Apply glitter and leave the toy to dry. Remove the stick and attach a ribbon instead.

Using the same principle, you can apply a variety of designs to Christmas tree decorations.
