Holidays of state, national and regional scale are registered in a special calendar. The beginning of the new year will fall on the beginning of the week - Monday. The long winter weekend will begin in the previous year - December 30. The article similarly analyzes how we will rest during the New Year holidays in 2025.
According to the developed calendar, New Year and Christmas festivities will last 10 days. They will start on December 30 and end on January 8. The vacation will be officially paid for by all budgetary enterprises operating on different forms of ownership. In the New Year 2025, the first working day will be on Monday. It will come on January 8, so an additional day off will appear on the calendar.
Production calendar 2025
According to the adopted standards, people will work on three different schedules. The maximum working hours will be 40 hours a week, and the minimum will be 24 hours a week.
The developed and approved calendar shows how we will rest during the New Year holidays in 2025. In the first month, there will be 18 working days in schools and at budget enterprises and firms. The remaining days include the holiday week, as well as Saturdays and Sundays.
Holidays in 2025
In addition to the officially accepted New Year and Christmas holidays, the production calendar includes several special dates. Months have a certain number of days off:
- January - 13. The non-working week includes New Year and Christmas holidays.
- February - 9. On February 22 and 23, Russians will have holidays due to Defender of the Fatherland Day.
- March - 11. International Women's Day will be celebrated on March 7 and 8.
- April - 8.
- May - 13. From March 1 to 3, Spring and Labor Day is celebrated. The Great Victory over the fascist troops falls on May 8-10.
- June - 11. Russia Day is celebrated on June 11 and 12.
- July - 8.
- August - 9.
- September - 9.
- October - 8.
- November - 10. November 4 is National Unity Day.
- December - 9.
The Orthodox calendar marks additional dates:
- 01. - Nativity of Christ;
- 01. — Circumcision of the Lord;
- 01. — Baptism of the Lord God;
- 02. — Presentation of the Lord;
- 04. - Annunciation;
- 05. — Easter;
- 06. — Holy Trinity;
- 10. — The Protection of the Holy Mother of God.
Interestingly, according to the Muslim calendar, the new year will begin only on July 7. For Muslims, it will not be 2025, but 1446.

How we will rest during the New Year holidays is marked in the calendar published by the Ministry of Labor. The holidays will last only seven days, but the first month will include several more significant dates:
- 01. — traditionally celebrated Old New Year;
- 01. — Tatyana's Day and Students' Day.
The Nativity Fast falls on 28.11.2023 - 06.01.2025. Bright Christmas is celebrated on January 7. Epiphany Eve will be celebrated on the 18th. Christmastide will be held from 07.01 to 18.01.
How will they cope with the weekend?
The Ministry of Labor regularly approves the working calendar. Non-working days are often transferred to other months.
The New Year holiday in Russia will last 10 days, and in connection with this, in 2025 there will be 3 days off, moved from January to May - the 2nd, 3rd and 10th.
The plan will be approved in December 2023. Additional days off are created because January 6 and 7 are Saturday and Sunday, which are already non-working days at many enterprises. Instead, people will be able to rest on Thursday and Friday, May 2 and 3, respectively. After the New Year's holiday, people will return to work, and children to school - on January 8. It should be a day off, but this non-working day will be compensated on May 10, 2025.
Thanks to this plan, the May holiday will last 5 days from May 1 to 5, and the second non-working period will increase to 4 days - from May 9 to 12.
Thus, in May there will be the same number of days off as in the first month.
Working hours standards
The first month will have 18 working days and 13 non-working days, including a holiday for the New Year holidays in honor of the arrival of 2025. There will be 366 days in the year, as it is a leap year. People will work 248 days and rest 118 days on Saturdays, Sundays and special dates.
Russians are in for a long holiday:
- from 01.01 to 07.01;
- from 23.02. to 25.02;
- from 08.03 to 10.03;
- from 01.05. to 05.05;
- from 09.05 to 12.05.
The working hours standards for the year are calculated according to special documents. The number of working hours depends on the type of working week:
- at 40 hours - 1978 hours;
- at 36 hours - 1779.6 hours;
- at 24 hours - 1184.4 hours.
Public holidays in the regions of Russia
Holidays — these are not only the dates adopted at the state level. Additional non-school and non-working dates may be adopted in different schools, universities and budgetary enterprises. Important significant dates will also appear in certain republics of Russia. Our country is inhabited by many different nations, each of which has its own customs, traditions and cultural values.
In Tatarstan, 4 additional celebratory dates have been adopted. Eid al-Fitr (break of the fast) is celebrated on June 4. August 12 falls Eid al-Adha (tribute to the memory of Ibrahim's sacrifice). The national holiday of Tatarstan is celebrated at the end of August. The anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Tatarstan falls on November 6.
In Bashkortostan, the same holidays as the Tatars are celebrated on June 4 and August 12, 2025. The national holiday will be celebrated on October 11 — Day of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Residents of Crimea will also celebrate Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-AdhaOn March 18, celebrations will be held on the peninsula in honor of the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
