Today, the tobacco industry shows no signs of slowing down. Tobacco production remains one of the most profitable businesses in the world.
Tobacco magnates showcase their products, establish business connections and conclude trade relations at tobacco exhibitions, the most influential of which we will tell you about in this article.
10. IECIE Shenzhen Stop
Date: September 3-5, 2021
An exhibition dedicated to electronic cigarettes has just ended. The Chinese know a thing or two about vapes: one of the most famous vape exhibitions in the world is held annually in the Celestial Empire, namely in the city of Shenzhen. It attracts vape fans from all over the world - more than 50 thousand people from more than 60 countries and about one and a half thousand manufacturing companies.
The exhibitors included suppliers of batteries, atomizers and liquids for electronic cigarettes, manufacturers of the products themselves - both medium-sized companies with handicrafts and multi-million dollar large companies. However, the audience was attracted not only by vapes - the exhibition also hosted fiery hip-hop shows and fashion shows.
9. Vapexpo France
Date: October 16, 2021
For over six years now, Vapexpo has been organizing vape shows both in France and abroad. This exhibition cannot be missed by all major players in the local and international market.
The exhibition will feature not only vapes, but also liquids for them, tobacco flavors and other smoking accessories. In addition to large companies, Vapexpo also encourages newcomers, for whom a separate stand will be created. There, young French vape companies will present their products.
One of the distinctive features of Vapexpo is its eco-friendliness. As the creators themselves say, they have specially developed a whole program to reduce the waste left after big shows. Part of the equipment that has become unnecessary can be completely recycled, and the other part can be reused.
8. World Tobacco Middle East
Date: October 26, 2021
This is the most famous exhibition of tobacco products, which is held in the Middle East, in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai. In the luxurious interiors of the exhibition center, representatives of tobacco companies (more than 250 names) meet and conclude trade agreements, and ordinary visitors get acquainted with aromatic products from other countries.
It is worth noting that for the first time in history, products of our domestic Kaluga Tobacco Factory will be presented at the 2021 exhibition. In parallel with the exhibition, a conference with free access will be held, where growth opportunities and challenges facing the tobacco industry will be discussed.
The exhibition was originally planned to be held in January 2021, but due to the coronavirus it was postponed for more than six months.
7. World Tobacco Expo Europe
Date: November 24, 2021
The Eastern European twin sister of the Dubai Tobacco Show will be held at the Inter Expo Center in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.
The exhibition is planned to last for about two days and will feature products, accessories, related goods and equipment, both locally produced and from Indonesia, Asia and Australia, far from Europe.
In addition to demonstrating their companies' products, tobacco representatives can participate in a conference to exchange experiences or attend a forum to strengthen trade relations.
6. China's 2021 International Cigar Expo (Chengdu)
Date: November-December 2021
Among tobacco exhibitions, ICE is a newcomer, its history began only two years ago, in 2019. However, despite its youth, the exhibition was warmly received by the “kings” and enthusiasts of the tobacco market.
The second exhibition was planned to be held in the same Chengdu in November 2021. The focus of the event will be cigars, so many leading cigar manufacturers have been invited to it, such as Habanos SA, Oettinger Davidoff AG and others.
The location of ICE is no coincidence – the city of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, is famous as the base for the production of Chinese cigars, and the Chinese themselves have even surpassed the Spanish in the amount of consumption of incense sticks.
The exhibition was promised to feature a variety of premium cigar brands and related products from Chinese and foreign brands, ranging from cigar accessories to drinks recommended for enjoying while smoking.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus intervened. Seeing no way to guarantee 100% safety for visitors and employees, a representative of the organizing committee announced that ICE would have to be postponed. The new date for the exhibition is currently unknown, presumably December 2021.
5. Vapexpo Moscow
Date: December 2021
But why are we talking about distant and overseas lands, if in a couple of months our country will also have its own tobacco exhibition. Shortly before the New Year, Vapexpo Moscow will be held in Moscow – a platform for those who love and appreciate vapes and want to personally enjoy the latest products from the leaders of the vape industry.
According to the organizers, over the past years, the event has presented over a thousand brands of electronic cigarettes, accessories and related products, and over the entire period of the exhibition's existence, it has been visited by over 49 thousand Muscovites and guests of the capital.
4. World Tobacco Asia
Date: January 26, 2023
The European and Middle Eastern tobacco exhibitions also have an Asian sister with the same name. This is a large and important event for the entire Asian (and not only) tobacco market. Last time, it was visited by more than 2,300 entrepreneurs from 47 countries. Moreover, about 40% of them are representatives of large companies with more than 500 people on staff.
The entrepreneurs themselves were pleased with the exhibition – 86% of them informed the organizers that visiting World Tobacco Asia had a positive impact on their activities. The exhibition will be held in Indonesia's second largest city, Surabaya.
3. Pure Vape
Date: March 2023
Most likely, in the spring of 2023 – if the coronavirus does not intervene – another Munich exhibition will be held. It will be dedicated to vapes, both the devices themselves, and consumables and accessories for them.
Unfortunately, mere mortals will not be able to get in – entrance is reserved only for professionals in the tobacco world.
2. Vapexpo Spain
Date: June 2023
For several years now, in the capital of Spain, Madrid, in one of the most beautiful monuments of exhibition architecture of the last century (the “Glass Pavilion”), a show of vape products has been held.
In addition to promoting products (both local and foreign), the exhibition is also positioned as a meeting place for manufacturers from different countries, where they can establish friendly and business connections.
The exhibition is quite popular among Spanish vape smokers – over 13 thousand people visited it in just a couple of days.
1. Intersupply and InterTabac
Date: September 16, 2021
In one of Germany's most famous exhibition centres, which is visited by more than one and a half million people every year, the Intersupply exhibition was supposed to open in 2021. At the same time as its colleague and competitor, the InterTabac exhibition was scheduled to take place in the same exhibition complex in Dortmund.
Both exhibitions were expected to feature products, services and equipment for the production of cigarettes, cigars and other nicotine-containing products, as well as modern electronic cigarettes (aka vapes).
In addition, Intersupply was to become a platform for the exchange of experiences in the production of tobacco products, fruitful discussions and the establishment of strong and profitable trade relationships.
For the first time in many years of the exhibition's existence, two thirds of the participating companies were declared as foreign. And in total, more than 500 enterprises expressed a desire to participate in the exhibition. Just a year earlier, both exhibitions broke their own attendance record - 13,800 people came to see tobacco products.
But alas, man proposes, and the coronavirus disposes. Seeing how much the number of cases increased in the spring, Messe Dortmund (the organizer of both German trade fairs) announced that both Intersupply and InterTabac would have to be postponed until next year. Now tobacco manufacturers and tobacco lovers will have to wait until September 2023.
