The most interesting activities in autumn

It is as natural to be sad on rainy autumn evenings as it is to have fun all night long in the summer. Of course, for the sake of variety, you can occasionally allow yourself a little melancholy. However, it is much more pleasant to spend time in a way that is beneficial for the soul and body.

And at the same time, autumn is always the beginning of something new. Vacations and holidays end. A new school year begins. Every day is another chance to make your life better. After all, for a happy person, even the coldest and rainiest autumn is a priceless time that is so important to spend usefully.

1. Have a photo session outdoors

Autumn landscapes are the best background for beautiful shots! A field of sunflowers, a forest, a lake or river bank – photos against the backdrop of the red and golden colors of autumn are simply stunning! Take pictures of everything: viburnum bunches, late flowers, colorful leaves and, of course, yourself against their backdrop. Make rowan beads, a wreath of colorful leaves, and weave viburnum bunches and flowers into it. Collect beautiful twigs, colorful leaves, cones – you can make New Year's souvenirs for friends and loved ones.

2. Change your attitude

By autumn itself! After all, everything is in our head and depends on the thoughts and feelings that we associate with a particular situation. Is autumn a time of gloomy weather, slush and cold? Or maybe autumn is a time of colorful leaves, warm and soft multi-colored sweaters, scarves and umbrellas, a time for collecting herbariums, pumpkin soup-puree, running in the rain from a cafe to the cinema? Try to find something positive for yourself in what makes you sad. Smile at your own thoughts and they will happily respond with a good mood.

3. Start doing sports

In autumn, physical activity decreases, so many people gain extra pounds. Sign up for dancing, aerobics, yoga, go to the gym, or even better - to the pool. Swimming tones, promotes weight loss, and improves the body. Autumn is the best time for running: it is not as hot outside as in summer, and fresh air, as we know, is very invigorating. Sports will help dispel the autumn blues. After all, when a person leads an active lifestyle, the hormones of happiness are produced more actively.

4. Collect a herbarium

An integral part of autumn! The next chance will be only in a year, so it's time! It is not necessary to dry them and glue them to paper - it is enough to simply collect your precious collection of yellow-red-orange and put each treasure in your favorite books. Make a colorful garland and an autumn bouquet out of them.

5. Go on holiday to hot countries

Especially if you didn't manage to have a rest in the summer, especially since in the fall there are plenty of inexpensive offers from travel agencies. The long-awaited trip will give you a lot of new impressions and positive emotions, before which the autumn depression will be simply powerless. You can travel around your native country, to its most beautiful cities - at this time they are shrouded in special romance. Even a trip to a neighboring city will help you unwind, change the scenery.

6. Clean out your closet

It's time to put away summer flowing skirts and short T-shirts somewhere deep in the closet, sort through everything autumn-winter and see what is missing, filling in the gaps. Pay special attention to warm socks, sweaters, cardigans and scarves.

7. Have a picnic in nature

Sit by the fire, bake potatoes, fry sausages, drink aromatic herbal tea from a thermos, sing songs with a guitar. And if you can’t get out into nature, have a picnic at home. Bake potatoes with meat in the oven, open a jar of cucumbers or pickled mushrooms, make a homemade pie, make herbal tea, turn off the lights, light candles, turn on your favorite music and settle down right on the floor, spreading a warm blanket.

8. Start a new project

Which will captivate and touch new sides of the personality. Perhaps it is time to go to study where you have long wanted, change your place of work, try a new job, write a script or a story or start your "365" of something.

9. Invite friends over

Prepare different types of tea (with herbs, berries, fruits), sweet treats, for example, cookies with wishes, invite your friends and arrange a tasting. You can also bake a homemade pie - with apples, pears, plums, or several at once - according to different recipes, and arrange a competition for the best dessert. Tea drinking with various delicacies, heartfelt conversations, songs with a guitar, the smell of homemade baking... it's so great to spend evenings in the company of your favorite friends.

10. Take a course in something new

Speaking of new projects. In September, they go to school or college, but if you have already left that behind, why not take a course in something enjoyable - massage, dancing or drawing lessons. The doors are open - you just have to come in.

11. Make a cultural program

Movie premieres, concerts, all kinds of exhibitions – study everything carefully, take care of tickets in advance, because it is better to buy them for such events in advance. Read books. Paper ones. The smell of paper, the cozy crunch of pages, the yellow light of a floor lamp, a warm blanket, aromatic coffee – such an environment is the best for reading. Books develop us, replenish the vocabulary smell, so do not be lazy to read, because there are so many good books!

12. Expand your tea collection

For different occasions - herbal, fragrant, soft, aromatic, warming, relaxing and delicious smelling. It is enough to have basic black and green and different jars-bags with herbs: oregano, mint, chamomile and thyme for starters, will make tea drinking in a new way tasty and healthy.

13. Go shopping

You don't have to buy anything. Just enjoy autumn shopping, because unlike summer shopping, it is measured and unhurried. In the autumn months, the shops are much calmer: new things are sold without discounts, summer ones are already sold out, which means there is no such excitement as in the summer.

14. Surround yourself with sunny mood

Again, speaking of mood. Nature has no bad weather! Autumn prepares nature for rest, cleanses it, nourishes the earth, and in winter it wraps the trees in snowflakes and protects their sleep. This means that neither of them can have anything that speaks of "this nasty weather". Let the sun shine inside you, in the very heart, illuminate and warm.

15. Harvest

If you have a summer house or your grandma lives nearby, go harvest. You can get a lot of pleasure from harvesting vegetables, berries and fruits! Fresh air, bird calls, gifts of nature, which you can then enjoy all winter long – such a pastime is good for both body and soul. And you can also help your grandma make homemade preserves – roll up jams and pickles for the winter.

16. Write a wish list

An integral part of the new season (and any other changes) is a wonderful list of what you really want to accomplish by a certain date. Such lists help you not to get lost in your own goals and desires, and how nice it is to sum up the results later!

17. Go to the forest to pick mushrooms

Just imagine what you will feel when, after a walk through the autumn forest, you return home with a basket of honey fungus, birch boletus or noble porcini mushrooms. A golden carpet of leaves covering the still green grass, red islands of berries in forest glades, multi-colored tree crowns through which timid sunbeams break through, a breath of the last warm breeze, a "concert" of bird voices - such a walk will give you a sea of pleasure!

18. Smile more

Not so that it irritates everyone (well, remember the saying: "Smile - it irritates everyone"). For yourself. Smile, because everything is cool. There are enough gloomy people on the street, it is worth joining the ranks of those who smile at this world every day, and there is no need for a reason.

19. Make homemade preparations

Stock up on seasonal fruits, berries and vegetables while they are still available at the market at affordable prices. Vegetables can be frozen or preserved for the winter. Sauerkraut, lightly salted cucumbers, squash caviar, apple jam – you can make do with traditional recipes or master new, more exotic ones, for example, make dogwood jam or make candied pumpkin.

20. Surprise everyone

A new and fresh attitude to autumn, bright colors of the wardrobe, a smile, let it rain outside, a picnic on the roof, let the cool wind blow (then why did people come up with blankets, quilts and sweaters?), a new super tasty coffee recipe or an encouraging phrase. Loving people is the greatest art, as Vincent Van Gogh said. The greatest, but not so difficult and, moreover, very pleasant.

21. Do some handicrafts

Buy yarn of different shades and knit cozy winter things for your loved ones: scarves, mittens, socks. They will be truly happy with such gifts. In autumn, time seems to slow down. On rainy evenings, you can watch old films, read your favorite books, knit, embroider, enjoying the leisurely flow of time and your favorite warming drinks.

22. Discover your creativity

Drawing, singing, dancing, sculpting from plasticine or making bears from socks - it's up to you. The main thing is to set out on this path if you've wanted to for a long time, but can't do it. Start small and get the most out of it. Come up with your own creative project and implement it!

23. Celebrate Halloween

On October 31, All Saints' Day, throw a mystical party according to all the traditions - with witches, pumpkins and black cats: prepare treats, make pumpkin lanterns, dress up as ghosts and have fun like children. This is the meaning of one of the oldest holidays - to laugh at things that scare you, to stop being afraid of them, to see something very positive in the scary. After all, Halloween is actually the kindest and most cheerful holiday of autumn. All the spirits are given candy for a reason.

24. Share Instagram with real life

Progress has arranged it so that today we have more photos somewhere online than in albums or on the wall, or at least on the refrigerator under a magnet. And with the introduction of phones, tablets and other gadgets that can take photos into our lives, most of the pictures have moved to Instagram. Then why not use them more creatively and add them to your life.

25. Educate yourself

Take language courses, attend specialized seminars, read books on your specialization.

If you need to brush up on a foreign language, attend "conversation clubs." Start learning a language. To make it more interesting, listen to foreign songs or watch your favorite movies with subtitles. These and other tips from the book by polyglot Susanna Zarayskaya will tell you how to turn classes into a fun game. Do exercises to train your intellect, such as in the books "What to do in the evening with your family at the dacha without the Internet" and "Memory does not fail." Try to master any musical instrument. Train your creativity. You will learn how to become more creative from the book "Rice Storm." Read interesting popular science literature. Make yourself comfortable in an armchair with the books "Interstellar," "Quantum Universe," "Beauty Squared" or "Game Theory." They will help broaden your horizons, shake your imagination and captivate you more than any detective story.

Autumn is the best time to change something in your life, to rethink it, to finish what you started, to plan something new, to decide on something you have long dreamed of, to find a new, more interesting and highly paid job.

 26. Buy a warm blanket

It's getting cold not only outside, but also at home. Before you turn on the heating, buy the warmest, coziest, brightest blanket. You'll see - it will definitely come in handy. And not only in the fall.

27. Spend your weekend actively

In warm sunny weather, you can go on a river boat or motor ship ride, ride horses, go to the zoo, go to the rollerdrome or organize a bike ride. By the way, all these ideas are very good for romantic dates.

Autumn is a season that many people don't like because of its changeable and unpredictable weather. But we mustn't forget that rainy days free up a lot of precious time that we can spend usefully. And even when it's gloomy and damp outside, remember: every season has its own unique charm.

28. Buy some cozy pajamas

Of course, a warm blanket will save you, but still, in autumn and winter it is more pleasant to sleep in cute flannel pajamas. Then getting out from under this blanket in the morning will not be so painful and tormenting.

29. Do a photo shoot with leaves

Yes, soon the Internet will once again be filled with jokes about "girls in leaves", and Instagram will be filled with photos of beauties against the backdrop of golden landscapes. Well, let them laugh, a couple of photos in autumn leaves will not hurt anyone. Or at least one selfie on the phone. Just like that, for yourself.

30. Find the perfect ankle boots

What would autumn be without fashionable new clothes? Luxurious ankle boots are what you need for a great mood and a stylish look. And it doesn’t matter that you already bought two pairs last fall and last spring – there’s no such thing as too many good shoes.

31. Place bouquets of leaves around the apartment

You know, autumn bouquets of yellowed leaves can be no worse than summer ones - of bright freshly cut flowers. Add a piece of autumn to your interior: put a wonderful yellow and red bouquet in the most visible place in the house.

32. Buy an aroma lamp

There are days when you come home from work, fall on the couch, and have no more strength for anything. At all. What to do when it’s dark outside and depression is about to overwhelm you? Just relax: throw away negative thoughts, light an aroma lamp with essential oils and lie down for 15–20 minutes. Add mandarin, lemon balm, lavender or marjoram oil to the aroma lamp. You’ll see, you’ll feel better.

33. Have a day without the Internet

Spend a day without the Internet: turn off your phone, don't turn on your computer, forget about social networks and news portals. Take a break from the flow of information that falls on us every day. Unload your head and devote yourself to the real world for at least one day.

34. Have a literary evening with your family or friends. Here are some ideas.

  • Take a line from any book and then invite the audience to come up with their own story on the given topic.
  • Let everyone write a poem about what they find in their pockets.
  • Remember some famous fairy tale. The task of the game participants is to write their own version of the story. You can transfer the characters to another time or settle them on Mars, place the accents differently, reveal the characters' personalities from an unexpected side. It will be fun!
  • Learn a few poems about autumn and read them to each other.

Are you still wondering what to do this fall? Live and enjoy life! Fill every day with meaning, live with love and remember with gratitude! Have a happy fall!
